Three weeks after the opening of the world’s newest airport, Al Maktoum, which serves the huge enterprise zone of Dubai World Central, things are already looking good.

Special NEEDS at Al Maktoum Airport

Terminal 1 is a single storey terminal which will be welcome by travellers with special needs, particularly those who have restricted mobility. Dedicated check in desks for passengers with special needs are available and you should ask at one of the help desks for directions if this is not clear on arrival.

As with any air travel, it's recommended that you notify your airline of your need when booking to ensure that the airline can make the necessary arrangements to ensure you travel is as comfortable as possible.

Electric golf buggy style carts are available to aid customers with restricted mobility and can arrange to collect you from your car at the drop-off point.

WC and washroom facilities are clearly signed throughout the airport, however if you have any concerns before travelling, you should contact your airline who will be able to provide further information.
